Contemporary art by Mu Boyan
The goal of this project is to pick an artist, design a logo and a poster for the exhibition, and
a book for the artist. I chose Mu Boyan as my artist, who is an incredible Chinese sculptor, and Lacma for his exhibition.
Mu Boyan's art is funny, bold and realistic, and my work is to reflect his concept. He hopes to transform flesh into a language, telling the tales of life. Mu's creations also pay attention to life
in intricate details. The project is based on a real exhibition and we should choose a precise museum for the artist. The color and layout should also reflect the concept of the exhibition.
I chose an organic shape as the logo for the human sculpture. The use of poster color and layout should also reflect the concept of the exhibition. The basic colors of the book are taken from his work. For the composition, I use a simple layout with large pictures which bring
a strong contrast.
CITY OF SHANNAN
Shannan is one of the birthplaces of ancient Tibetan civilization. It has a long history and splendid culture.
The logo design incorporates local attractions, culture and colors. The logo's overall shape is drawn from the Himalayas and Mani stone, and the colors representing Shannan are drawn from nature, architecture, and the Fengma flags. Inspired by Thangka paintings, he created illustration elements belonging to Shannan, reflecting the perfect integration of "heaven, earth and man” in Tibet. The logo adopts bright colors and a youthful and energetic visual form, which contrasts with the rich cultural connotation, enhances the memory of the logo, and reflects that Shannan is a city that embraces all things.
